How to add an event to the calendar
The calendar controls setpoints by time. A calendar has a default value applying otherwise, and events overriding it during specific spans — operating hours on weekdays, reduced operation at weekends, exceptions over holidays.
How to add an event
- Open the building you want to work on. See How to switch building and search for a building.
- Go to Calendar in the sidebar.
- Choose the building calendar. If you haven't chosen one, it says Select a building calendar.
- Click Add event.
- Choose the time span and the value.
- Save.
If it fails, the message says Couldn't add event.
If there are no events today, it says No events today. Show all (+{n}) reveals the rest.
How to add a weekly event
For operation that repeats every week:
- Click Add weekly event.
- Choose the days under Select days.
- Set the time span and the value.
The event appears as {weekday}s, starting {date}. The hint Select other weekdays in the same week as the selected date explains how the day selection works.
Recurrence
An event can repeat:

Editing a recurring event gives you the choice of Change only this event or the whole series — Edit recurring event. The same applies to deletion: Delete recurring event.
Note: Change only this event is the option you want when a single day differs. Change the whole series to fix one day and you change operation on every other day too — and that rarely gets noticed straight away.
The default value
The default value is what the calendar uses when no event applies. Changing it gives the confirmation Change default value? with the explanation When you change the default value, the calendar uses this value unless another event overrides it.
If it's missing, the message says This calendar has no default value. Set one in calendar settings.
Note: A calendar without a default value has no defined state outside its events. Set it before adding events — otherwise it's unclear what the installation does the rest of the time.
Valid values
A calendar can be limited to a value set with Configure valid values. Use Add value, Confirm value, Update and Delete value.
Valid values are NULL or a number — enter anything else and the message says Valid values are NULL or a number. If the value set is missing, it says This calendar is missing valid values. Define them in calendar settings.
A value set makes the calendar safer to use: whoever adds an event picks from a list rather than typing a free-form number.
Holidays and exceptions
Holidays follows the holiday calendar. If it can't be loaded, the message says Couldn't load holiday calendar.
The Exception tab shows the departures with Date and Plan, and Week shows the week with Day and Plan.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the calendar come from?
A calendar is added from a setpoint — the message Calendar added from setpoint appears then. See How to change a setpoint.
Can I delete a calendar?
Yes: Delete this calendar? Add it again later from the setpoint. The deletion is therefore reversible.
Why can't I change the value set?
The calendar is a member of a group: This calendar is a member of the group "{name}". Editing of the value set is locked. See How to set up a group calendar.
How do I see what has happened?
Use Show events in the Edit calendar menu.
Tip!
Set the default value to what the installation should do most of the time, and use events only for the exceptions. A calendar with twenty events covering the whole week is hard to troubleshoot; one with the right default and three exceptions explains itself.
