How to download energy data as an Excel file
If you need the energy figures in a spreadsheet — for reporting, tenant billing or your own calculations — download them as an Excel file.
How to download energy data
- Open the building you want to work on. See How to switch building and search for a building.
- Go to Energy > Energy consumption in the sidebar.
- Select the period and resolution you want the data in.
- Select the meter under Selected meter.
- Click Download as Excel file.
The file is called Energy data with the meter's name, and it holds the rows from the table view: Date, Temperature, Operative and Total, with a Total row at the bottom.
If the download fails, the message says Couldn't export energy consumption data. Try again.
How to download a comparison
From Energy comparison, the file holds both periods: Date A and Date B, Temperature A and Temperature B, Total A and Total B.
That's the quickest route to a spreadsheet showing consumption for two periods side by side, without downloading two files and joining them yourself.
Note: The download follows the resolution selected on the page. If you need hourly values, set Per hour before downloading — the file can't be broken down afterwards, only aggregated upwards.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get several meters in the same file?
The download covers the selected meter. If you need several, download them separately — or use the organization dashboard if you're working across buildings.
Is the temperature included in the file?
Yes, Temperature is its own column. That lets you do your own temperature correction in the spreadsheet if you want.
What does the Operative column mean?
Whether the building was in operation during that span, based on the registered opening hours. See How to register opening hours for a building.
Can I get the data automatically each month?
The download is manual. If the figures need to reach another system regularly, integration rather than export is the answer — raise it with support.
Tip!
Download with the Temperature column intact even if you only want the consumption figures. The day somebody asks why January was high, having the temperature in the same file is the difference between an answer and another round in Properate.
