How to find your way around Properate
Properate has two levels: the portfolio level, where you see all your buildings together, and the building level, where you work on one building at a time. Almost everything you do in Properate happens at building level, so it pays to know how to get there and what the sidebar holds.
The portfolio level
When you sign in, you land on Portfolio. This is where the pages covering all your buildings at once live:

At the bottom of the sidebar sit the settings: Module settings, User administration, Alert groups, Climate factors, Indoor climate table and Task templates. Which of these you see depends on your role.
How to open a building
- Click Go to building at the top of the sidebar.
- Type a postcode, address or name in the search field.
- Select the building from the list.
You are now at building level, and the sidebar switches to that building's modules.
The building level
At the top sits Overview, the building's dashboard. Below it the modules are split into two groups:
Operational — what you use when working on the installation:
VNC, 3D, Technical schema, Floor plan, Calendar, Setpoints, Timeseries, Notes, Anomalies, Virtual sensors, Cloud automations, Energy flexing, Third-party app, Settings and FDV (Building overview, Files, Components, Tasks).
Analytics — what you use when following the building over time:
Energy (Energy consumption, Energy comparison, Energy flow), Water (Water consumption, Water comparison, Accumulated consumption), Indoor climate, Waste, Reports, Analysis (Timeseries graph, XY graph, Gauge, Heatmap) and Incidents (Incident handling, Alarm configuration, Alert configuration, Alert groups).
Note: You only see the modules your organization has access to for that particular building. If a module you expect is missing, access is what governs it — not the building. See How to change module access.
Shortcuts
Above the modules sits Shortcuts — links to the modules you use most. Properate suggests these automatically, and you can change them yourself. See How to customize the sidebar with shortcuts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get back to all my buildings?
Click All buildings in the sidebar, or the Properate logo in the top left.
Can I have two buildings open at once?
Yes. Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) as you click, and the page opens in a new tab.
Why does my colleague see more modules than I do?
Module access is set per organization and can be overridden per building. On top of that, Properate distinguishes read access from write access: with read access you see the data, but the buttons that change anything are hidden.

Make use of the search field in Go to building — it searches postcode, address and name at the same time, so you don't need to remember what the building is called in Properate.
